VIN DE TABLE Loir (2005)   Nocturne

VIN DE TABLE Loir (2005)

100% Pineau d'Aunis

From 60 year old vines.

A shiny, floral essence with hints of wicker basket on the nose. Light, quite elegant savoury herbal character.

More floral character on the palate, spicy pepperiness with dried herbs. A bit of grip, but it fits nicely.

Very interesting.

BLAGNY 1er Cru (2006)   'La Piece sous le Bois'

100% Pinot Noir

A soft, fleshy, sweet red fruit nose. A very light red in colour but the concentration in the mouth is fantastic. There are gentle floral, almost violets in amongst some of the young fruit and with some slight twiggy tannins through the middle and a hint of liquorice behind this wine seems to travel the whole spectrum of Pinot notes. The finish has more power and shows a good use of wood.

Young but very good.

'Here the nose displays a similar elegance and aromatic complexity with a very fresh blend of red and dark berry fruit that introduces detailed, intense and minerally flavors that are a bit more obviously structured on the balanced, long and seductive finish. Again, perfect for restaurants. 90' - Burghound.com - Allen Meadows

DOMAINE LES BRUYERES Crozes Hermitage 'Les Croix' (2006) MAGNUM   100% Syrah

Dark, spicy, tar like notes on the nose with an added fresh and fruity character on the palate. There are some stalky notes, but it actually helps the wine to cope with the darkness. There is a hint of ash in the mix as well. Overall the wine is strong but remarkably supple and full of character.

DOMAINE CATHERINE & PIERRE BRETON 'Les Perrieres' (2004)   Bourgeuil (magnum, 150cl)

DOMAINE CATHERINE & PIERRE BRETON 'Les Perrieres' (2004)

100% Cabernet Franc

Biodynamic

A more ferrous, mineral almost blood character to the nose. Very spicy and immediate. There are also some developed notes starting to show through, though the structure is still quite tight and tannic as it should be in this style of wine.
