Chardonnay / Pinot noir

Made with Champagne grape varieties and in the same way as Champagne. It even tastes like Champagne. Yet the price is definitley not Champagne.

We've tried this against many a 'well known' name from Champagne and this proves a winner nearly every time.

50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Blanc, 15% Pinot Gris

A great example of the quality possible in sparkling wines from outside of the Champagne area whilst retaining all the variety of Alsace.

Wonderfully crisp apples on the nose and palate accompanied by a spicy rich tang. The bubbles are delicate and excitable giving an impression of liveliness to this wine. It is fresh, light, characterful & refreshing.

66% Chardonnay / 33% Pinot Noir

Light, shortbread, biscuity notes on the nose. Citrus fruit, clean & crisp on the palate with light honey & floral blossom hints. A good crisp finish with a very slight hint of creamy richness on the end.

100% Chardonnay

Lovely exciting pineapple, grapefruity, citrus notes on the nose. Elegant, fine structure with a dainty lime palate & hints of apple crunch. Great length - really quite refined.

100% Chardonnay

This delicate, fresh and light Champagne is really typical of the quality and style of wines from the Cote de Blancs. With aromas of white flowers,apples and with a lovely refreshing crisp citrus palate. A gentle fizz that works perfectly as an aperitif and is a delight on its own.

50% Chardonnay / 33% Pinot Noir / 17% Pinot Noir red wine

Quite an orange onion skin rose colour. Floral, marmalade crushed fruit on the nose carried through on to palate. A bit of structure underneath - firm and serious style rather than a fruit bomb. A gentle sweet fruit touch to the finish - showing some crisp meatier pinot character.

100% Chardonnay

From Grand Cru sites in Avize, Oger & Mesnil sur Oger.

A rich, full creamy nose with mature chardonnay fruits throughout. Lovely structure, particularly the acidity - very elegant. Vanilla & toasted brioche on the palate - a slight green streak runs through the middle, but this gives it a lovely refreshing edge. A fine & full finish.

65% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay

"I was totally floored when I first tasted this stellar wine. I find it hard to put into words just how perfect the nose, palate and finish of La Grande Année 1999 Rose are. The cavalcade of flavours is frankly hilarious - I laughed for a day after experiencing this wine… Swallow and the world is a better place, but not as good as it is after another sip. This is as close to heaven on earth as you are going to get with a rosé Champagne. The problem is that you will like it too much. I am still in therapy. I adore this wine."
